The husband and I are trying to decide which route to take. We will be out of town most likely, lie and say we went? Say we didn't. We aren't too sure whats the best action for us to take...curious what you all are doing.

Saturday Let the Games Begin
by Poztate inthe start of a new memorial season is upon us.
saturday is the day for the start of the invites to look but not touch the bread and wine.
the "observer class" is a belief unique to jehovah's witnesses.. along with the invite to the masses a special effort is being made this year by the elders to invite all the df's, da's and faders.. along with the invite a copy of the rtj will be left with them.. naturally we will still be treated as pariah's if we do attend but it is the thought that counts.. i am of the "fader class" as i don't wish to rock the boat with my wife and extended family.

I think I am on the radar. We have gotten a couple calls from an elder, but have since blocked numbers and don't know if we have missed calls or texts. They usually correspond pathetically via text. We had a service group stop by and I hid in the house.
Thanks for the warning, tomorrow i will make sure we are not playing outside with the kids! I have a hard time faking things- I would not accept a RTJ booklet and actually would tell them it was offensive and never left him. The memorial, I am definitely not going.

I am female and don't think its shocking or surprising to not include women. In such a strict religion of male/female behavior and appropriateness - it just makes more problems for the Borg having to make sure the females/males are appropriate in behavior, living conditions, etc. All males and young make it even easier for the Borg. Less of a headache and of course they do whats best and easiest for them. -

It just seems like they are trying to reach out to the younger side- seeming hip and cool-- songs with a little more 'life' to them. That new song book from a few years ago was horrendous. -

Analytical trend after broadcasts?
by juandefiero insimon,.
i'm not sure if you ever share analytics data.. but i've been noticing a trend.
it seems that every time a new jw broadcast, we get a seeming increase in new members the week after.. does the data show that?.

I lurked for a while and was scared to death to make an account in case I was wrong. I thought i was doomed to destruction when making an account.
Then the more you learn, you realize its all crap, but they may be similar to me. Making an account was 'crossing the line of no return'

Quality of newer membership
by Lostandfound inon a previous post mamacita29 pointed up the low quality of new jw converts.. is the quality falling even more as the society use lower than low meeting, talks, broadcasts etc.. when i was active initially the organisation and standards seemed totally different today.
i have seen hard working intelligent elders fall by death or exhaustion.
the younger generation that came along never really grasped responsibility hence shortage of good elders, never mind the watered down to almost nothing quality of meetings.

I am mid 30's. I remember as a kid being intimidated - that answering and service was so hard and serious. In my mid/late teen years I noticed service was about the breaks and meeting answers were easy and lame. My older family members complain how simple and pathetic the literature is. They justify lack of quality that people all over the world are reading the same thing and its for all the 3rd world country JWs to understand.
In fact most can't go to meeting because they just can not stand listen to the drivel. Boring horrible speakers, lame lessons, and the same 3 chosen/exemplary people are allowed to comment. YES- they obviously do not let certain bro/sis comment, you can tell the body doesn't like them. There is a newly baptized sister....mid 20's dumber than dumb. She was raised around Jw's - Quit her part time job to pioneer- has no car and depends on others to pick her up. She is used as an example. barf.

Azor- I understand now with that clarification. It would be excellent to inform doctors that JW's need more insight in to these rights.
You know your medical team, I do not. I was only speaking from the backside, what patients see and who doctors are are completely different worlds. As I mentioned, they are not too invested in the social side of things, which is the JW world for us. That is huge to us as JW's definitely. I was only offering that doctors livesnare chaotic and stretched to the maxed time wise. They spend countless hours outside of the hospital with the latest research, studies, and must be kept up to date to keep their licensure. What is expected outside of their normal shifts- is incredibly demanding. I am only offering this, so that your time is most effective for them, your audience. Whatever you have planned - my advice- keep it short and sweet. Something they can read on their own time would be most beneficial.
I wish you and your family the very best and am so glad you got your family out!

Azor- I am not sure what you mean.
"How do you think they would respond bringing up that many parents do not know or really understand how confidentiality works."
Could you expand on this? I am not sure what I am missing.

As the spouse of someone who is in the field- Just thank him/them. They know JW's and blood is crazy already. They have limited time and DONT want to have religious discussions- Doctors brains are not wired for this- they like solving problems only, of the medical kind. The biggest thing people forget, doctors have families and personal lives. Everyone wants their life saved and the best doctor possible. This comes at the expense of his spouse/children. Getting acknowledgement that the doctor gives much of his free/family time caring for patients beyond the hospital setting (which most patients don't see) goes a long way in the medical teams mind and heart.
